January 4 prayers

All the same as yesterday.
Prayer for the girls and youth to have a wonderful day and get closer to God during their retreat.
Prayer for good rest tonight to be ready for work again tomorrow.
Prayer for the situation over the Gaza Strip.
Prayer for rest and a relaxing day on this final day of Christmas break.

A praise already:
Went by Dollar General and saw a family of school kids who I teach. I got hugs all around! Great way to start the day.
Spirits are lifted and I feel more able to tackle things today. Yay!

Built stronger relationships with all of my kids.
Took a group of band-os to the beach during Spring Break.
Started tech clubs for kindergarten and first grade!
Brought my family closer together by encouraging visits to each other.
Grew as a teacher, with a better understanding of standards-based lessons and other system-level requirements.
Developed more patience, forgiveness, and understanding, both personally and professionally.

Prayers for January 3

Praises to God for last night's sunset. It was absolutely beautiful with all of the pinks, purples, and blues. The clouds framed it beautifully, and it was an unexpected lift to the end of a rather bad day.
The pictures of Zoe. She really is a beautiful baby, even if I am a bit biased.
Meeting Mama for lunch in Homerville. I have taken for granted my time with her in the past, but not any longer.

Today's prayer list:

Uncle Buster and Aunt Louise, as usual
Amber and Caitlin and the youth group
Jody to have a wonderful birthday
Financial needs
Mama to have happiness and security
Zoey Anna DeBarry to grow and develop and come home safely
Megan to heal from the c-section
A better attitude for me, less depression
Johnny to get the classes Amber needs
Healing for Johnny to get closer to God again
Unspoken needs

In the beginning...

Well, I'll talk about THE beginning in another post. This one just refers to the beginning of this blog. I am a Christian who is trying to build a closer relationship with God and learn more about Him. Last week I finished something that has taken me three years to do...I finished the last chapter of reading the entire Bible.

So now that I've done that, it's time to begin again, reading more carefully this time and reflecting on what His word says to me.

I am in no way an authority on the Bible or Christianity. I am just a simple woman trying to find her way along God's path.

You are welcome to join me.
